Employers - Screening Process

Step 1:
Phone Interview - Mile High Employment thoroughly screens each applicant by phone before an interview is scheduled. Many "soft skills" are assessed at this point, including voice/diction, professionalism, flexibility, commitment, and language proficiency .

Step 2:
Application Process - Applicants complete a Pre-Employment Application, which is used to review for appropriate work and educational history. Applicants begin by completing written assessments for filing, math and coding. The applicant then completes additional paperwork, including I-9 and W-4 forms, drug/alcohol screening consent form, credit/criminal background check consent form (as applicable), and any other legally required documentation.

Step 3:
Personal Interview - The applicant then participates in a personal interview with a Mile High Employment Placement Consultant. Our interview approach enables us to get to know each applicant through open-ended questions, establishing employment interests, strengths, and need for further training. At this point we assess the applicant's work ethic, transportation resources, and his/her ability to commit to a long-term assignment. Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.

Step 4:
General Aptitude/Skills Assessment - We administer a thorough skills assessment series to determine the applicant's knowledge, skills, and abilities, and to ensure an appropriate skill-to-job match.

Step 5:
Reference Checks
Skill evaluation alone does not provide a complete profile of the Candidate. Punctuality, communication skills, flexibility, consistency, and professional work ethics, along with a reality-based testing system are the keys to a successful hiring decision. Mile High Employment adheres to a strict policy of reference checking all Candidates.

Step 6
Performance Evaluations
Client satisfaction is measured periodically. Issues and situations change from week to week and it is the responsibility of Mile High Employment to ensure that quality is measured throughout probation. Our quality assurance program is customized to the client. Our basic quality assurance program includes:

  • First Day Check
  • Quarterly Staffing Summary
  • Written Quality Service Evaluation

We measure performance through a Quality Service Evaluation form. This allows us to continue to monitor performance of the Candidate throughout probation. Mile High Employment will track Candidates performance through written performance evaluations completed by client supervisors. This rates the Candidate on attitude, productivity, punctuality, skills, and flexibility. It provides a record of performance that will be a valuable aid in making the decision to retain the Candidate.

If a Candidate is performing poorly within sixty calendar days, he or she will be replaced as soon as possible when the client supervisor requests a replacement.
